Australosuchus clarkae

 

Australosuchus clarkae is the only member of the genus of extinct Mekosuchinae crocodylian. The species is only known from the late Oligocene and early Miocene of southern Australia where it has been found in fossil sites at Lake Pinpa and Lake Pallankarinna. The genus name means ‘southern crocodile’.
