The Wombats- Digging up Australia

Believe it or not, our living wombats are some the smallest members of the Pleistocene wombat radiation. The massive Phascolonus gigas, Australia’s true giant wombat, stood around a metre tall and weighed 150-200 kg. A range of wombats have left their mark on Australian substrates as they have wandered and waddled across the land.
