About
Flinders has been teaching engineering since 1992 and is well regarded in the state as being a producer of high quality, innovative and industry-ready engineering graduates. We aim to do things a little differently with innovations such as:
- a common first year meaning that students can transfer between engineering specialisations with no loss of time,
- our heavy industry orientation including guest lecturers, industry-inspired projects including a complete semester in industry during the third year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degrees,
- significant student projects such as the Flinders Automotive Solar Car, and others,
- pathways that allow people with different levels of mathematical and physics competency to navigate through to become a Professional Engineer,
- accreditation of all of our BEng(Hons) and MEng courses with Engineers Australia.
Flinders Engineering has a focus in four areas:
- Biomedical Engineering
- Civil and Environmental Engineering
- Electrical, Electronic and Robotics Engineering, and in
- Mechanical, Materials and Maritime Engineering.
