Interested in participating?

There are two ways you can get involved.

Part 1: National online survey: The Australian COVID-19 drug supply survey

Are you eligible to take part?
The survey is open to anyone who:

  • lives in Australia,
  • is aged 18 or over and
  • has purchased and/or supplied illicit drugs during the last 12 months including in the lead up to and during COVID-19 restrictions.

How do I take part?
If you choose to take part, you will be asked to complete a short (20-30 minute) online survey: the Australian COVID-19 drug supply survey. This will ask you:

  • Basic demographics
  • Your experiences of COVID-19
  • Your experiences of and/or supplying illicit drugs prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and during COVID-19 related restrictions. e.g. how long did it take? what price did you pay? where did you purchase or supply the drugs e.g. home, club or neutral drop?
  • Any other changes you have observed in the Australian drug market.

The survey is anonymous i.e. we will not ask your name, address nor collect your IP address.

Anyone who enters the survey is eligible to win 1 of 5 $200 e-gift cards.

Part 2: Telephone or VoIP interviews

Are you eligible to take part?
The interviews are open to anyone who:

  • lives in Australia,
  • is aged 18 or over and
  • has supplied illicit drugs during the last 12 months including pre and post COVID-19. By supply we mean the provision of drugs for cash, goods or on credit.

How do I take part?
If you choose to take part, you will be asked to participate in an anonymous 45-60 minute interview. The interview will be conducted via telephone or VoIP – specifically via the signal or wickr app (using end-to-end encryption). All participants will be reimbursed a $50 e-card payable via wickr or signal.  If you are interested in taking part, please contact Caitlin Hughes on +61 8 7421 9926.
