PhD Scholarship Opportunity<\/strong>
\nEstablishing and Sustaining a Schoolwide Multi-Tiered System of Support Framework for Inclusive Education
\nWe are currently accepting applications for commencement in 2023<\/em><\/h4>\n
DESCRIPTION<\/strong>
\nWe are seeking candidates for a PhD scholarship for an industry funded research project focused on inclusive education: Establishing and Sustaining a Schoolwide Multi-Tiered System of Support Framework for Inclusive Education.<\/h6>\n
The project is a long-term, four-year partnership between the Flinders University Research in Inclusive & Specialised Education (RISE) team and Riverbanks College to support the establishment of Schoolwide Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for inclusive education. It is based on an iterative co-design approach, such that specific components and strategies to address the College\u2019s broad aims will develop over time and in collaboration, as Riverbanks College and its priorities related to inclusive education develop.<\/h6>\n
Within this project, the PhD candidate will have scope to research an area of interest that addresses tiered academic, social, emotional and\/or behavioural MTSS (e.g., Schoolwide Positive Behaviour Support).<\/h6>\n
BENEFITS and TENURE<\/strong>
\nThe scholarship includes:
\n\u2022 a stipend valued at $28 854* per annum (2022 rate) tax free
\n\u2022 The scholarship will be awarded for 3 years
\n\u2022 a Research Training Program Fee Offset Scholarship to cover tuition fees for Australian Citizens, NZ Citizens and Permanent Residents.
\nThe scholarship is awarded for three years, PhD completion may be extended to four years.<\/h6>\n
ELIGIBILITY<\/strong>
\nTo be eligible for the award of this scholarship a student must:
\nBe an Australian citizen; or New Zealand citizen; or have been granted permanent resident status; and
\n\u2022 meet PhD admission requirements including: an Australian Honours degree Class 1 or 2A or equivalent qualification (at least AQF Level 8), including a research component of at least 6 months (e.g., Master\u2019s dissertation) achieving Distinction (75%) OR including evidence of equivalent research experience, such as a substantial first-author refereed publication or track record as an investigator on a competitive grant; and
\n\u2022 be available to commence as a full-time PhD student at Flinders University during semester 1 (admitted by February 6, 2023).<\/h6>\n
ADMISSION to HDR<\/strong>
\nThose who apply for the scholarship opportunity that have not already applied for admission to a relevant HDR must also apply. Instructions on how to apply for admission can be found here: https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/study\/apply\/apply-research-degree\/how-to-apply<\/h6>\n
By lodging this separate HDR admission application, applicants acknowledge:

\n\uf0d8 The application for PhD admission will only be assessed where:
\no The applicant is successful in being awarded the scholarship
\nOR
\no The applicant confirms in the application for PhD admission that, if they are not successful in being awarded the scholarship, their supervisors agree that the project and enrolment can still proceed and the applicant agrees to this.<\/h6>\n

\nThe applications for HDR admission and the scholarship will be separate processes; applications for admission to candidature for the PhD are submitted electronically (link above).<\/h6>\n

Please email your CV with a covering letter outlining your relevant qualifications, research experience and reasons for applying for the scholarship.<\/h6>\n
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted via email by 18\/11\/2022 and may be requested to attend an online or in-person interview. The successful candidate will ideally begin by 02\/20\/2023, subject to negotiation.<\/h6>\n
