Welcoming new Project Officer Dr Kate Laing to the Resilient Humanitarianism project team

Dr Kate Laing has joined the team as the Project Officer and Research Assistant from June 2022. She will be helping to organise the Geneva symposium in 2023 and provide assistance to the Chief Investigators on the project.

Dr Laing received her PhD from La Trobe University in 2017. Her thesis investigated the trends in Australian women’s international organising through a study of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom. She has a deep interest in the history of women’s political organising in Australia and is keen to discover how the Red Cross, as a volunteer society that relied heavily on the involvement of women, interacted with organised women’s groups in the national and international political sphere.
