Project findings provide new knowledge and valuable insights addressing important scholarly and public policy questions, especially the changing nature and organisation of judicial work, concerns about the meaning of judicial impartiality, and tensions between judicial independence and accountability.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key areas and issues which the Project is investigating include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Judicial performance and emotion\" href=\"http:\/\/sites.flinders.edu.au\/judicialresearchproject\/judicial-performance-and-emotion\/\">Judicial performance and emotion<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Courts and social change\" href=\"http:\/\/sites.flinders.edu.au\/judicialresearchproject\/courts-and-social-change\/\">Courts and social change<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Gender and judging\" href=\"http:\/\/sites.flinders.edu.au\/judicialresearchproject\/gender-and-judging\/\">Gender and judging<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"National Court Observation Study\" href=\"http:\/\/sites.flinders.edu.au\/judicialresearchproject\/judicial-practice-in-court\/\">Judicial practice in court<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Workload Allocation Study\" href=\"http:\/\/sites.flinders.edu.au\/judicialresearchproject\/judicial-workload-allocation\/\">Judicial workload allocation<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Magistrates Research Project\" href=\"http:\/\/sites.flinders.edu.au\/judicialresearchproject\/magistrates-research-project\/\">The background, attitudes and experiences of the Australian judiciary<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Project research findings are the basis for national and international\u00a0<a title=\"Publications &amp; Presentations\" href=\"http:\/\/sites.flinders.edu.au\/judicialresearchproject\/research\/\">publications\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0<a title=\"Conference presentations\" href=\"http:\/\/sites.flinders.edu.au\/judicialresearchproject\/research\/\">presentations<\/a>\u00a0to judicial and academic audiences and submissions to government, as well as for\u00a0<a title=\"Research reports\" href=\"http:\/\/sites.flinders.edu.au\/judicialresearchproject\/research-reports\/\">research reports<\/a> \u00a0provided directly to the judiciary and their courts or to organisations such as the Judicial Conference of Australia.<\/p>\n<p>This research is undertaken in\u00a0<a title=\"Collaborations\" href=\"http:\/\/sites.flinders.edu.au\/judicialresearchproject\/collaborations\/\">collaboration<\/a>\u00a0with scholars from Australia and internationally.<\/p>\n<p>The Judicial Research Project builds on and extends the earlier work of the\u00a0<a title=\"Magistrates Research Project\" href=\"http:\/\/sites.flinders.edu.au\/judicialresearchproject\/magistrates-research-project\/\">Magistrates Research Project<\/a>.
